Anca Bucur
Dr. Anca Bucur has since 2003 been the project leader of the Grid-related research at Philips Research Eindhoven, part of the Healthcare Systems cluster. She received a PhD from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, on the subject "Resource Management in Wide-Area Computer Systems". The project researched processor co-allocation in wide-area systems, collecting, processing and analysing traces from actual systems, modelling various multicluster systems and simulating their behaviour under different job-request flows.
Her research interests and expertise include Grid and wide-area computing, scheduling, the modelling of distributed systems, parallel algorithms, simulations, high performance computing, fault tolerance, the architecture and development of Grid-based compute-intensive (visualisation) medical applications, and the access to and management of distributed data.
