The Centre for Technological Research of Crete (CTRC) is a research institution, affiliated to the Technological Education Institution of Crete with more than 17,000 students and 20 research laboratories. Its mission is to foster and facilitate the transfer of research results and know-how towards the industry, and thus contribute to sustainable regional development based on innovative R&D results. CTRC hosts eight divisions, covering a broad range of technical and academic areas ranging form Renewable Energies and Improvement of energy efficiency, to Sustainable Territorial Development, and the Design and Development of Integrated Systems and innovative service platforms in the domains of Health, Lifelong Learning, Culture and the multimedia industry in general. development;
Professor Demosthenes Akoumianakis
He is a research scientist at CTRC, Division of ‘Design and Development of Systems and Constructions' and Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Information Technology & Multimedia, Technological Education Institution of Crete. He is also the founder and Director of the interactive Software and Systems Engineering Laboratory. He is actively involved in various national and European collaborative research and development projects, with emphasis on tools for scenario-based requirements engineering, online communities, multiple user interfaces and the development of collaborative technologies and toolkits.
